Intervention

Here at Belvidere we aim for every student to reach their full potential. To enable them to do this, they sometimes need a little extra support. Mrs Brown, our intervention manager, extracts students and works with them on areas where support is needed, specifically in English and Maths. 

Students are extracted in groups of 4-5, these small group sizes ensure that students receive the help they need, that will boost their skills and confidence. 

In addition to this, we have some extra support for identified students within English and Maths lessons.  Additional teaching staff will be available in some lessons, either to work alongside the student in the classroom or to extract small groups of students to do some intensive work on particular aspects of English / Maths which the classroom teacher has identified as being an area of support need, either from assessment outcomes or from their knowledge of them in the classroom.
